Air Quality Monitoring System (AQMS)
This Air Quality Monitoring Station is capable of measuring the real-time concentration level of seven air pollutants such as NOx, O3, VOC, CO, PM10, PM2.5, CO2 and NMHC. It registers the high temporal concentration of pollutants in the centralized server during its operational period. The collected data has a wide range of applications like urban air quality, health impact, regional chemistry, agriculture, climate change etc. Present scientific data generated helps students to pursue higher research too and is able to produce a good number of scientific papers. Through our research, the university is able to recommend various strategies to policymakers to improve the future air quality in the smart city Bhubaneswar.
Automatic Weather Station (AWS)
The Automatic weather station records the data of various environmental aspects like temperature, wind speed, humidity and weather patterns in the university campus at the centre of the smart city Bhubaneswar. The data generated could be used to address various environmental and social issues like the impact of air pollution on health and eco-system, identification of sources of pollutants through modelling, crop yield, the microclimate of cities, and spatial-temporal/ seasonal/ long-term trend of various atmospheric pollutants with respect to weather.
Integrated Computation Lab
The use of GIS and its applications are keenly focused along with the multi-operating systems which include Linux and Windows. High-performance computation, data visualisation and analysis are executed through scientific languages like Python, R, Matlab and FORTRAN.
