Our research work focuses on understanding the sources responsible for the emission of hazardous Air Pollutants and Greenhouse Gases (GHGs) by developing spatially resolved ultra-fine gridded Technological Emission Inventories for Indian cities and National scale. Vital for Urban Air Quality Management, Regional Atmospheric Chemistry, Climate Modelling, and Health Impact studies are some of the core aspects of our ongoing research. Our research findings can be a useful tool to frame policies and implement mitigation strategies for Air Quality Management and Climate Studies in the country.
Clean air is fundamental to human health, sustainable cities, and a healthy environment. India faces significant air-quality challenges, with cities experiencing growing levels of air pollution and increasing pressure on public health and the environment. Air pollution/greenhouse gases (GHGs) emissions, and climate change are two sides of the same coin. Many of their sources are interconnected, making it essential to understand emission sources, processes, and their quantification. Reliable information and robust scientific understanding can help transform complex environmental challenges into practical, sustainable, and science-based solutions.
I believe that better understanding and quantification of emissions sources can support cleaner air, healthier cities, reduced GHGs emissions, and meaningful action toward addressing climate change.
I believe in 'Be a Part of the Science-based Solution for Clean Air, GHGs Emission Reduction to achieve Net-Zero'!
“WE WORK FOR CLEANER AIR”
We believe in teamwork built on Hard Work, Respect, and Punctuality. These values guide the way we work, collaborate, learn, and contribute to solving environmental challenges. Environmental challenges require clarity, collaboration, and a deep understanding of the problem. We focus on Clear Communication and Evidence-based Understanding of issues related to Urban Air Quality, Air pollution, Greenhouse Gases (GHGs) Emissions, and Climate Change. We do not simply look for the easy way out. Instead, we believe in making things easier through hard work, continuous learning, and consistent improvement. Air pollution and GHG emissions have strong regional characteristics. We take small, consistent, and meaningful steps to understand the sources of air pollutants and GHG emissions across different regions of India. By building this understanding, we aim to support better decisions, meaningful action, and practical solutions for Cleaner Air and Healthier Environment in India.
